Imodium
Imodium (loperamide hydrochloride) capsules are white powder filled in hard gelatin capsules green cap and opaque dark body. It is indicated for the symptomatic control of acute diarrhea.

In patients with an ileostomy, it can be used to reduce the number and volume of stools and to harden their consistency.

Each packet contains film coated 60 tablets in 6 strips of 2mg capsules having leaflet insert inbox.

Each film coated capsule contain:
Loperamide hydrochloride 2mg.
Dosage:
The capsules should be taken with liquid.
Adults and Children 6-17 years:
For Acute diarrhea: the initial dose is 2 capsules (4mg) for adults and 1 capsule (2mg) for children; follows by 1 capsule after every subsequent loose episode.
For Chronic diarrhea: the initial dose is 2 capsules (4mg) for adults and 1 capsule (2mg) daily for children; this initial dose will be adjusted until 1-2 solid stools a day are achieved with a maintenance dose of 1-6 capsules (2mg – 12mg) daily.
The maximum dose for acute and chronic diarrhea is 8 capsules (16 mg) daily for adults.
For children, the maximum dose must be related to the bodyweight or advice by a physician.
Precautions and Warnings:
Children under 2 to 6 years shouldn’t use this medication.
Loperamide HCL is contraindicated in patients with known hypertension to loperamide hcl or to any of the excipients.
Loperamide HCL must be discontinued promptly when constipation, abdominal distention, or ileus develop.
Tiredness, dizziness, or drowsiness may occur in the setting of diarrheal syndrome treated with loperamide HCL, therefore, it is advisable to use caution when driving a car or operating machinery.
