Mebecol SR
Mebecol SR (Mebeverine hydrochloride) capsule is prescribed in irritable bowel syndrome conditions used to ease painful stomach cramps.
It belongs to a class of drugs known as Anti-cholinergic and Anti-spasmodic. The salt is Mebeverine HCl. It reduces pain and irritability by relaxing intestinal muscles.
Mebecol SR is a musculotropic antispasmodic with a direct action on the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract, relieving spasms without affecting normal gut motility.

Precautions:
Use caution in those persons who have porphyria. Mebeverine is excreted in milk of lactating women but the amount is considered too small to be harmful to the nursing infants.
