Bactroban
Bactroban (Mupirocin) broad-spectrum topical antibiotic ointment is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline Pakistan Limited. It is used to treat skin infections.
Each pack contains: Each pack of Bactroban contains an ointment of 15g.
Composition:
Each gram contains 20mg mupirocin B.P.
Mupirocin 2% w/w in water-soluble base.

Usage: Bactroban Cream is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of skin infections and MRSA colonization. Bactroban Cream may be used alone or with other medications.
Bactroban Cream belongs to a class of drugs called Anti-bacterial. It is not known if Bactroban Cream is safe and effective in children younger than 2 months of age.
Dosage and administration:
Apply to the affected area up to three times daily or as prescribed by the physician. Store below 25°C. To be sold on the prescription of a registered medical practitioner only. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children. For detailed information please see leaflet. For external use only.
Side effects: Bactroban Cream may cause serious side effects including: severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody, severe itching, irritation of treated skin, unusual skin blistering or peeling, and signs of a new skin infection.
Get medical help right away, if you have any of the symptoms listed above.
The most common side effects of this cream include:
- burning,
- stinging,
- itching, and
- pain.
