Septran
Septran (CO-trimoxazole) Paediatric Suspension is a 50 ml (approx.) syrup USP. It is given in the morning and evening after every 12 hours.
Pack contains: The pack contains 50ml syrup (approx.).
Composition:
Each 5ml contains:
Trimoxazole B.P 40 mg.
Sulphamethoxazole B.P. 200 mg.
Dosage and administration:
Dosage is different for different age groups:
12 hours per day (Morning & Evening) 2 teaspoonfuls for children aged 6 to 12 years (10ml)
1 teaspoonful for children aged 6 months to 5 years (5ml)
6 to 5 months: 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml).
Treatment should be continued until the patient has been symptom-free for 2 days; the majority will require treatment for at least 5 days.
Precautions:
Shake well before using. Store below 30°C or in the refrigerator. Protect from sunlight.

Septran syrup is a combination medication used to treat bacterial infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, ear infections, and abdominal infections.
Side effects:
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, painful or signs of low blood sugar are all common side effects.
