    Amoxil (Amoxycillin) 125mg/5ml is a penicillin antibiotic that fights bacteria. It comes in the form of syrup and capsules. The Amoxil syrup is used to treat different infections caused by Bacteria. These infections may be chest (pneumonia), tonsils, sinuses (sinusitis), inner ear (otitis media), urinary and genital tract, or skin and fleshy tissues.

    The syrup is mostly used for children because it’s safe to give it to toddlers as an antibiotic to treat various infections. For adults capsules of Amoxil should be taken.

    Composition:

    Each 5ml of Amoxil contains:

    Amoxicillin as Amoxycillin Trihydrate U.S.P    125mg

    Dosage:

    Adults, teenagers, and children: 250 to 500mg every 8 hours or 500 to 875 mg every 12 hours

    Children and infants older than 3 months: the usual dose is 20 to 40 mg divided and given every 8 hours or 25 to 45 mg divided and given every 12 hours.

    Infants 3 months of age: 30 mg every 12 hours.

    Or as directed by your doctor.

    Instructions:

    ·Shake the bottle well before use.

    ·For details see the information leaflet.

    ·Carefully measure the dose using special spoons. Avoid using household spoons because you may not get the correct dose.

    · Before reconstitution keep tightly closed and store below 25⁰C.

    · For syrup, you have to make suspension with the given powder. So carefully follow all instructions to make a solution and don’t use it for more than 7 days.

    ·         Blood in the urine

    ·         Back, leg, or stomach pains
