Phylin
Phylin (Doxofylline) Syrup is used to treat and prevent symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (a lung disorder in which the flow of air to the lung is blocked). It helps in relaxing the muscles of the air passages, thus widening it and making it easier to breathe.
Package contains: Each packet contains Phylin 120ml Syrup.
Composition:
Each 5 ml contains:
Doxofylline 100 mg.
Innovator’s specs.
Dosage and Administration:
Elderly patients: 10ml (2 teaspoonfuls) two or three times daily.
Children less than 12 years old: 6-9mg/kg twice daily or as directed by the physician.
Side effects: Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them.
Apart from this, Common side effects of Phylin are Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Upset stomach.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially: aliskiren, lithium, drugs that may increase the level of potassium in the blood (such as ACE inhibitors including benazepril/lisinopril, birth control pills containing drospirenone).
Instructions:
Dosage as directed by the physician.
Store at 25°C, Excursions permitted to 15°C – 30°C.
Protect from sunlight.
The bottle should be tightly closed.
Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
