Stamentin DS
Stamentin DS (BP) (Co-amoxiclav) BP. It is a dry powder suspension of 312.5mg /5ml. It is a produced at dedicated penicillin plant.
Package Contains: Each package contains 60ml dry powder suspension (Syrup). It is also available in the form of injection (IV 500mg /100mg powder for injection or infusion vials).
Composition:
Each 5ml (after reconstitution) contains:
Amoxicillin Trihydrate (BP) eq.to Amoxicillin 250mg
Potassium Clavulanate (BP) eq.to Clavulanic Acid 62.50mg

Directions & Administration: To be used as directed by the physician. For details see inside of the unit carton/information leaflet.
Children: the usual recommended daily dosage is 25mg/kg/day in divided dosages every eight hours.
Directions for Reconstitution: Add a little amount of previously boiled and cooled water. Invert bottle and shake until the powder is dispersed. Then add more water upto the mark on the label. Once dispensed, the suspension must be stored in refrigerator and used within 7 days. For oral use only.
Indications:
Stamentin products are indicated for short-term treatment of bacterial infection at the following sites:
Upper respiratory e.g (including ENT) e.g. tonsilitis, sinusitis, otitis media.
Lower respiratory tract infections e.g. acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, lobar and bronchopneumonia.
Genito-Uninary tract infection e.g boils, abscesses, cellulitis, wound infection.
Bone and joint infection e.g. osteomyelitis.
Dental infection e.g. dentoalveolar abscess, other infections e.g intra-abdominal sepsis.
Susceptibility to Stamin will vary with geography and time (see Pharmacological properties, pharmacodynamics for further information). Local susceptibility date should be consulted where available and microbiological sampling and susceptibility testing performed where necessary. Infections caused by amoxicillin-susceptible organisms are amenable to stamentin treatment due to its amoxicillin content. Mixed infections caused by amoxicillin-susceptible B-Lactamase producing organism in conjunction may therefore be treated with Stamentin.
Pregnancy & lactation: As with all medicines, use should be avoided in pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, unless considered essential by the physician. It may be administered during the period of lactation. With the exception of the risk of sensitization, associated with the excretion of trace quantities in breast milk, there are no detrimental effects for the infant.
Adverse Reactions: Infections and infestations
Common: Mucocutaneous candidiasis, Blood and lymphatic system disorders.
Rare: Reversible leucopenia (including neutropenia) & thrombocytopenia.
Very rare: Reversible agranulocytosis and hemolytic anaemia, prolonged of bleeding time and prothrombin time.
Instructions: To be sold on the prescription of a registered medical practitioner only. Keep all medicines out of reach of Children. Before reconstitution keep tightly closed. Store at 25°C in a dry place. Shake well before taking each dose.
