Amaryl M S.R. (Glimepiride / Metformin HCL) oral antidiabetic tablet is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems.

Composition:
Each bilayered tablet contains:
Glimepiride USP 2mg +
Metformin hydrochloride IP(as sustained release) 500mg.
Indications:
Amaryl M S.R. is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise in non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) (Type 2) patients who are unable to achieve sufficient glycaemic control with immunotherapy of metformin or glimepiride alone.
Or patients who are already treated with the combination of metformin and glimepiride as separate tablets.

Precautions:
The risk of hypoglycemia may be increased.
Treatment of patients with G6PD-deficiency with sulfonylurea agents can lead to hemolytic anemia.
