Description:
Each film coated tablet contains Amoxicillin USP 500 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg as clavulanate Potassium USP.
It is used to treat infections of the lungs (e.g., pneumonia), ear, nasal sinus, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissue.
It will not work for viral infections such as the common cold.
Amoxicillin USP:
Amoxicillin is an antibiotic. It’s used to treat bacterial infections, such as chest infections (including pneumonia), dental abscesses, and urinary tract infections (UTIs).
It’s used in children, often to treat ear infections and chest infections. The medicine is only available on prescription.
It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections.
It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu).
Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.
Amoxicillin is also used with other medications to treat stomach/intestinal ulcers caused by the bacteria H. pylori and to prevent the ulcers from returning.
Clavulanate Potassium USP
Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium is a combination medicine used to treat many different infections.
Infections are caused by bacteria, such as sinusitis, pneumonia, ear infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, and infections of the skin.
Dosage
Amclav May work best if you take it at the start of a meal.
Take the medicine every 12 hours.
Do not crush or chew the extended-release tablet.
Swallow the pill whole, or break the pill in half and take both halves one at a time.
Tell your doctor if you have trouble swallowing a whole or half pill.
Instructions:
- Store at 25°C. Excursions permitted between 15°C to 30°C.
- Protect from sunlight and moisture.
- Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
