Famtaza
Famtaza (Famotidine) tablet is H2 Receptor Antagonist medicine usually used for the treatment of heartburn and symptoms of excess acid in the stomach or acid indigestion.
It is composed of famotidine, which belongs to a class of medicines known as H2 blockers. It works by lowering the amount of acid formed in the stomach. It shows its efficacy after 10-12 hours.

Dosage: The usual adult dosage is 40mg once daily or 20mg twice a day. Dosage should be adjusted to the age and severity of the symptoms or as directed by physician.
Indications: Duodenal and benign gastric ulcers. Prevention of relapse of duodenal ulceration, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Treatment and prevention of gastro esophageal reflux disease.
Precautions: Impaired renal function, gastric carcinoma, pregnancy, lactation.
Adverse Effects: Headache, constipation, diarrhoea, dry mouth, nausea, rash, GI discomfit, anorexia, fatigue, rarely reversible gynecomastia, toxic epidermal necrolysis.
Some severe side effects may also occur:
- Breathing problems
- Muscle weakness
- Depression
- Persistent sore throat
- Confusion
- Mental or mood changes
