Jezeta
Jezeta (Ezetimibe+Atorvastatin)10mg+10mg is a type of medicine used to lower cholesterol. It’s used to treat high blood cholesterol. This is when you have too much of a fatty substance called cholesterol in your blood.
Packaging:
- Jezeta (ezetimibe)10mg+ (atorvastatin)10mg tablets are available in blister pack of 10’s.
- Jezeta (ezetimibe)10mg+(atorvastatin)20mg tablets are available in blister pack of 10’s.
- Jezeta (ezetimibe)10mg+(atorvastatin)40mg tablets are available in blister pack of 10’s.
Composition:
Each tablet contains:
Ezetimibe 10mg.
Atorvastatin (as calcium trihydrate) 10mg.
Dosage and Administration:
The dosage range of jezeta is 10+10 mg/day to 10+40 mg/day.
The recommended starting dose of this medication is 10+10 mg/day or 10+20 mg/day, daily.
It can be administered as a single dose at any time of the day, with or without food.
Adverse reactions:
Ezetimibe+Atorvastatin combination is generally well tolerated.
Adverse reactions reported were increased transaminases, upper respiratory tract infection, headache, myalgia, back pain, arthralgia, sinusitis, pharyngitis, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and fatigue.
Precautions:
Patients should be advised to report promptly unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, particularly if accompanied by malaise or fever.
Ezetimibe+Atorvastatin therapy should be discontinued if markedly elevated CPK levels occur or myopathy is diagnosed or suspected.
