Lungair tablets
Lungair tablets (chewable Montelukast Tablets BP) are for oral use.
Package contains: Each package contains 14 chewable tablets of 5mg.
Composition:
Each chewable tablet contains:
Montelukast Sodium BP equivalent to Montelukast 5mg. (BP Specs)
Dosage: As directed by the doctor.
Dosage & Administration: Montelukast should be taken once daily. For asthma, the dose should be taken in the evening. For allergic rhinitis, the time of administration may be individualized to suit patient needs. Patients with both asthma and allergic rhinitis should take only 10mg tablet daily in the evening.
Adults 15 years of age and older with asthma and/or allergic rhinitis: One tablet 10mg daily.
Paediatric patients 6 to 14 years of age and older with asthma and/or allergic rhinitis: For paediatric patients one 5mg chewable tablet daily.
Indications: Montelukast is indicated in adult and pediatric patients 2 years of age and older for the prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma, including the prevention of day-night symptoms and the prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm.
Lungair is indicated for the relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis (seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and pediatric patients 2 years of age and older, and perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and pediatric patients 6 months of age and older).
Pregnancy & Lactation: It should not be used during pregnancy until needed. If you are a lactation mother use it only on your pharmacist’s advice.
Side effects: Some common side effects are: Asthenia, dyspepsia, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and nasal congestion.
