Merol also called metoprolol tartrate is used to treat hypertension. The active ingredients used in this medicine block the action of certain natural hormones in your body, which ultimately lowers blood pressure, and strain on the heart. This drug may use to treat angina (Chest pain).

Indications:
- Hypertension.
- Angina pectoris.
- Migraine prophylaxis.

Composition:
Each film-coated tablet contains:
- Metoprolol Tartrate (USP) 50mg.
Dosage:
The usual initial dosage of this tablet is 100mg daily, whether used alone or added to a diuretic.

Merol should be administered cautiously to patients having cardiac failure and ischemic heart diseases.
