PYODINE
PYODINE (Povidone-Iodine) is a topical antiseptic germicide solution. Bactericidal-Fungicidal-Virucidal.
Available in 60ml liquid form and comes in a plastic bottle. Manufactured by Brookes Pharma (Private) Limited.
Povidone-Iodine topical is used in a medical setting to help prevent infection and promote healing in skin wounds, pressure sores, or surgical incisions.
Povidone-Iodine topical is also available in many different forms, such as a liquid, ointment, powder, cream, spray, swab, and soap.
Composition:
Each 100ml contains:
Povidone-Iodine (USP) 10.0g equivalent to 1.0g available iodine (1% W/V)
Directions:
For pre-operative prepping and post-operative cleansing apply directly.
For cuts wash the area with it.
For wounds wash the area and apply dressing if necessary.
For external use only.
It may use to disinfect the hands of healthcare providers and the skin of the person they are caring for.
It may use as first aid topical application in minor wounds and cuts.
Povidone-iodine has last longer antiseptic effects.
Cautions:
Discontinue treatment if irritation occurs.
Discontinue treatment if sensitivity develops.
You should not use povidone-iodine topical if you are allergic to it.
Ask a doctor or pharmacist if povidone iodine topical is safe to use if you have any medical conditions like Thyroid disease.
