Piriton syrup Composing of Chlorphenamine Maleate, Piriton Expectorant Linctus is a drug used to treat cough, high temperature and allergies related to mouth and throat.
Chlorphenamine Maleate is itself a medicine which is effective in curing hay fever, high temperature and cough.
Each 5 ml bottle of Piriton Expectorant Linctus contains 2.5 mg of Chlorphenamine Maleate, 125 mg of Ammonium Citrate, 55 mg of Sodium citrate and 150 mg of Glycerine in it.
This medication is sold in form of syrup and tablets. Hence, it can only be taken orally. It is available in different amounts of dosage. Also, the syrup is available in sugar free too.
In form of syrup, it is available in 5 ml, 100 ml and 120 ml. In tablets form, it is available in 4 mg. The amount, category and time of dosage is prescribed by the doctor or physician. And it is must to consult the doctor before in taking the medicine.
As for the dosage amount described at the box of medicine, it goes 1 teaspoon for adults above 18, ¼ teaspoon for infants and 1 teaspoon for 2 to 12 years old children. It is recommended to use this medicine two to three times a day.
