    Ventolin (Salbutamol) syrup is sugar-free for the relief of bronchospasm.


    Package contains: Each package contains 120ml syrup.


    Each 5ml contains:

    Salbutamol (as Sulphate B.P) 2mg

    Dosage & Administration: The doses below to be taken three or four times a day or to be used as directed by the physician.

    Adults: (10ml) 2 to 4 teaspoonful.

    Children 2 to 6 years: ½ to 1 teaspoonful (2.5 to 5ml). Children 6 to 12 years: 1 teaspoonful (5ml). Children over 12 years: 1 to 2 teaspoonfuls (5ml to 10ml).

    Indication: relief of bronchospasm in bronchial asthma of all types, chronic bronchitis, emphysema.

    Contra-indication: Hypersensitivity to any of its components and non-i.v preparations of Ventolin must not be used to arrest uncomplicated premature labor or threatened abortion.

    Precautions & warnings: Increasing use of short-acting inhaled beta-2 agonists to control symptoms indicates deterioration of asthma control. Sudden and progressive deterioration in asthma control is potentially life-threatening and consideration should be given to starting or increasing corticosteroid therapy.

    If the usual relief is diminished medical advice should be sought. Ventolin should be administered cautiously to patients with thyrotoxicosis. Potentially serious hypokalemia may result from beta-2 agonists, Ventolin can induce reversible metabolic changes, for example, increased blood sugar levels.

    Pregnancy & Lactation: Expected benefits to the mother should be weighed against any possible risk to the fatuous or suckling infant.

    Adverse Effects: Hypersensitivity, Potentially serious hypokalemia may result from beta-2 agonist therapy.

    Tremors, Headaches, Hypersensitivity, Cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, and extrasystoles.

    Peripheral vasodilatation, Muscle cramps may occur in some patients.

    Interactions: Salbutamol and non-selective beta-blocking drugs, such as propranolol, should not usually be prescribed together. Should not be prescribed to be under treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
