Atarax
Atarax (Hydroxyzine 2HCI) tablet main ingredient is Hydroxyzine Dihydrochloride & it is used for the treatment of symptomatic relief of anxiety in adults, the symptomatic relief of pruritus, & as premedication before surgery.
It is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline.
Package contains: Each package contains 2X25 film coated tablets of 25mg and leaflet (instructions). It is also available in form of syrup.
Composition:
Each tablet contains:
Hydroxyzine 2HCI 25mg.
Dosage & Administration:
To be used as directed by physician. Hydroxyzine should be used at the lowest effective dose and for the shortest possible duration.
Use of Atarax in the elderly is not recommended, however, if needed it is advised to start with half the recommended dose due to prolonged action.
Contraindication: Contraindication in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to hydroxyzine or any of the excipients, to cetirizine, to other piperazine derivatives, to aminophylline, or to ethylenediamine, pregnancy and lactation, severe hepatic or renal failure.
Instructions:
Store below 30°C. Protect from light, moisture, and excessive heat.
Keep all medicine out of reach of children.
