Description: Dilgem (Glimepiride) is indicated for such type II diabetic patients (NIDDM, non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus), whose hyperglycemia (Blood Sugar Level) cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone, as an adjunct to diet and exercise to lower the blood glucose in such patients.
Dilgem (Glimepiride) is also indicated for use in combination with insulin to lower blood glucose levels in patients whose hyperglycemia cannot be controlled by diet and exercise in combination with an oral hypoglycemic agent.
A combination of Dilgem (Glimepiride) and insulin may increase the potential for reduction in hyperglycemia. Diet and exercise should be emphasized as the primary form of treatment in initiating treatment for type II (NIDDM, non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus).
Glimepiride U.S.P: Glimepiride is a medicine used to treat type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is a condition where the body doesn’t make enough insulin, or the insulin that it makes doesn’t work properly. This can cause high blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia).
