Oxaban
Oxaban tablet [Rivaroxaban] is a blood thinner medicine to treat and prevent blood clots. The medicine is used for the prevention of atherothrombotic events in adult patients after an Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) with elevated cardiac biomarkers (Troponin or CK-MB).
Also, it is indicated to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. It is a type of medicine that is known as an anticoagulant. It is co-administered with Aspirin alone or with Aspirin plus Clopidogrel or Ticlopidine.
Presentation: The package contains 10 film coated tablets of 10mg.
Composition:
Each film coated tablet contains:
Rivaroxaban 10 mg
Dosage: The recommended dose is 2.5 mg twice daily.
Patients should also take a daily dose of 75-100 mg Aspirin in addition to either a daily dose of 75 mg Clopidogrel or a standard daily dose of ticlopidine.
Or use it as prescribed by your doctor.
Side effects:
- The most common side effect of this medicine is bleeding.
- Increase the risk of stroke after discontinuation in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.
- Hemorrhagic stroke
- Uncontrolled high blood pressure
- Stomach or intestinal bleeding or ulcer
Instructions:
- Store the medicine in a cool, dry and dark place below 25 C.
- Keep all medicines out of the reach of the children.
- To be sold & used on the prescription of Registered Medical Practitioners only.
- Tell your doctor if you ever had:
- Antiphospholipid syndrome (also called Hughes syndrome or sticky blood syndrome), an immune system disorder that increases the risk of blood clots
- An artificial heart valve
- Liver or kidney disease
