Recept (Risperidone) Tablet is used to treat depression also used to treat episodes of mania (frenzied, abnormally excited, or irritated mood) or mixed episodes (symptoms of mania and depression that happen together).
Package contains: It contains 10 film coated tablets of 2mg. Also available as: Recept Tablet 1mg/3mg/4mg.
Composition:
Each film coated tablet contains:
Risperidone (USP) 2mg.
Dosage: Please see the enclosed insert or as directed by the physician.
Usage: In adults, teenagers, and children 10 years of age and older with bipolar disorder (manic depressive disorder; a disease that causes episodes of depression, episodes of mania, and other abnormal moods). Risperidone is also used to treat behavior problems such as aggression, self-injury, and sudden mood changes in teenagers.
Side Effects: Some side effects may be caused by this medicine, but they are extremely rare.
Common side-effects are;
- Weight gain
- Drowsiness
- Drooling
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Tiredness
- Lightheadedness
Some serious side effects may also occur;
- Interrupted breathing during sleep
- Restlessness
- Anxiety
- Painful swallowing
- Mood changes
- Muscle spasms
