Sitaglu Met
Sitaglu(Sitagliptin Phosphate/ Metformin HCL) Met contains two chief ingredients belonging to different classes and have different functionality. Both these components work together to control Diabetes.
Sitagliptin Phosphate is basically an anti-diabetic medicine which aims in treating type 2 diabetes. It is a medicine in itself and usually recommended with the combination of Metformin. Metformin helps in controlling the sugar level in blood.
Both these ingredients are used together because of adverse effects of Sitagliptin Phosphate if used alone. Because of these two components used in Sitaglu Met, it is mainly used to treat Diabetes Mellitus type 2.
This medicine is recommended with an addition of other activities such as suitable diet, specific work out and other excipients.
Sitaglu Met is available only in form of film coated tablets and therefore it is taken only orally. The level of dosage varies from 50/500 mg to 100/1000 mg. 100/1000 mg is an extended version of this medicine and it is known as Sitaglu Met XR.
The level of dose indicates the amount of Sitagliptin Phosphate and Metformin HCL used in the medicine. A 50/500 mg capsule contains 50 mg of Sitagliptin as Phosphate and 500 mg of Metformin HCL.
The amount of dose, time and duration of using this medicine is prescribed by the doctor or physician.
The patient must follow the instructions given by the doctor before taking this medicine.
This medication is contraindicated in patients having hypersensitivity. Other adverse effects of using this medicine may include renal problems, vomiting, dizziness, gastral complication and diarrhea. If the effects get worse, seek for a doctor immediately.
