Composition:
Each film-coated tablet contains Losartan potassium U.S.P. 50 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide U.S.P. 12.5 Mg.
Dosage: Take hydrochlorothiazide exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose.
Description: Xavor-DIU is used to treat an essential high blood pressure condition in patients who are suffering from the state of uncontrolled blood pressure on losartan or hydrochlorothiazide alone.
Losartan potassium: Losartan is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to help protect the kidneys from damage due to diabetes.
It is also used to lower the risk of strokes in patients with high blood pressure and an enlarged heart. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.
Hydrochlorothiazide: Hydrochlorothiazide is used to treat edema (fluid retention; excess fluid held in body tissues) caused by various medical problems, including heart, kidney, and liver disease, and to treat edema caused by using certain medications including estrogen and corticosteroids.
Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention.
